Today, I will tell you natural ways to remove suntan. A day out in the sun makes your skin tone go down from fair to brown to dark. A suntan can cause many other skin problems like fine lines, acne, premature aging, skin burn, dark spots and much more. Instead of spending lot of money on buying cosmetic products try some natural treatment. Natural remedies have proven true friend in removing sun tan. Here are some of the exclusive ways to remove suntan.
1. Papaya and Honey face pack
In this pack, papaya contains helpful enzyme papain, which helps in skin whitening and renewals of skin cells. Honey makes the skin supple and soft.
Take ripe papaya, cut into pieces. Mash 3-4 pieces. Add a tablespoon of honey and blend them well. Apply this paste to affected areas. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. You can use this twice or thrice a week for a good result.
2. Green tea and rice flour
Antioxidants in green tea replenish the skin cells and remove skin tan and blemishes. Rice contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) which help to rejuvenate the skin, remove pigmentations due to tan and soothes the skin.
Take a tablespoon of rice flour. Add two tablespoon of fresh and cold green tea. Mix it well. Apply to tanned areas. Let it dry and wash off with cold water. In this, you can add used green tea leaves and follow similar steps. Regular use of this pack, you will definitely get rid of tanned skin.
Aloe has anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, cooling and refreshing properties. This plant is called the magic plant by mother nature. With regular use of aloe for 2-3 months, you can get rid of your tans.
Cut its spike structure from the side. Split the skin of leaves lengthwise. Take out the pulp either by scrapping or with the help of a spoon. Beat it with the spoon till it becomes frothy. Use this on tanned areas and leave it for 15 min. Cleanses with water.
4. Tomato scrub
Tomato contains lycopene- a carotenoid antioxidant, fatty acid derivatives, flavanols like rutins, all this helps in rejuvenating the skin. Tomato in beauty world is known for its depigmentation and anti-puffiness properties.
Cut the tomato in half, collects it’s juice into a bowl. Scrub to the affected areas. If this mixture is too watery or difficult to scrub than you can add rice flour. Rice flour helps us to scrub well and give a fair look than before.
Cucumber extract is very effective in removing tanning and in the sunburnt skin. Cucumber extract gives cooling effects.
Shred the cucumber and extract the juice from it. Using a cotton ball apply the extract on the skin and let it dry. Wash it off after 5-10 minutes.
6. Lemon and Sugar
A lemon slice can do wonders in removing tan. Glycolic acid fro sugar will rejuvenate the skin and bleaching property of lemon clears out your skin.
Cut a full lemon into the half. Take a tablespoon of sugar and half tablespoon juice of a lemon. Mix it well. Use this mixture to any part of your body affected with the suntan.
7. Red Lentil
Red lentils(masoor dal) are an outstanding source of vitamins, essential proteins, fibers, iron, etc. Red lentils possess anti-ageing properties.
Soak red lentils in water for about 2-3 hours. Strain it. Grind that soaked red lentils and make a thick paste. Add tomato juice into it. Apply to the affected areas.
8. Tomato and yogurt
Tomato has the citric properties and also lycopene present in tomato helps in removing tan. If you wish to remove dark spots and pigmentations, this pack is worth a try. The tomato extract also works as a toner.
Take a tablespoon of plain yogurt. Take a tablespoon of tomato extract in a bowl. Mix both the ingredient well. Apply the paste to suntan area. Let it dry for half an hour and wash off with normal water.
Potato has been used since ages to lighten the skin tone and under eye dark circles. Potato juice is also a potent bleaching agent.
Make a juice of raw potato strain it and apply on affected areas to get rid of tan. Keep this for 10-12 minutes. Wash off once it dries.
10. Turmeric and gram flour
Gram flour is always available at every other home. Gram flour is very helpful in removing dead skin cells and giving a natural glow to the skin. Turmeric powder adds a natural glow to the skin by removing tan.
Take 2 tablespoons of gram flour, add a pinch of turmeric powder and add rose water to form a thick paste. Apply to the affected areas. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. Very helpful in removing tan.
As we know, prevention is always better than cure. Healthy glowing skin gets from inside and unless your skin is getting the required nutrients and care, then it simply looks it’s best. Applying this packs can heal you from outside but not from inside.
I am suggesting these natural ways to remove tan because I have already been gone through suntanning, I have tried a lot of chemical, beauty and skin care products but nothing worked out and all my money invested in those products gone in vain and failed me to retain the naturally clear and glowing skin for a long term.
